Hi, I am Aiden.

Software Engineer

I am a self-determined Software Engineer, driven to make a meaningful impact on the world through solving engineering-based problems through the use of software and technology.

As noted by respected figures Tommaso Volpe (Managing Director at Nissan) and Andy Todd, I'm recognised for being a highly organised individual with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in both software and motorsport engineering.

My competitive nature, pursuit of perfection, and continuous learning bring out the best in both myself and the teams I work with. This is evident in my leadership and process improvements as well as my hands-on side projects, including managing my server which you can explore below.

These experiences, combined with my unique background, provide me with a versatile skill set that extends beyond software, embodying the essence of both leadership and engineering. This allows me to strive above and beyond my role where I'm ready to take on any challenge! So why not put me to the test?

Gentrack Ltd (Global)

Intermediate Lead Engineer

As a lead, I seamlessly integrate technical expertise with strong leadership to enhance customer satisfaction and internal operational excellence. My unwavering passion for innovation is evident in my commitment to surpassing expectations. To quantify this, I increased sprint throughput for teams I have worked with by 66%, went from Graduate to Intermediate in 2 years, and had most of my mentees promoted on an advanced timeline.

  • My core values prioritise results, collaboration, and continual enhancement within cross-functional teams.
  • Steered copious customer projects, crafting and executing technical strategies that significantly elevated customer growth and satisfaction showing leadership and aiding in closing and extending customer contracts.
  • Guided skilled professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Enhanced and developed streamlined processes, introducing automation and data-driven analytics. Resulting in 90% reduced errors and enhancing overall efficiency by 150%.
  • Consistently exceeded customer expectations through data-driven insights. Resulting in repeated customer requests specifically for my involvement, reflecting our commitment to excellence.

SRO Motorsports Group

Data Engineer / Data Technician

I was recommended for this role due to my proven work ethic and trustworthiness, where I’m solely responsible for the end-to-end process ensuring teams in the GT World Challenge Australia don’t breach the rules.

  • I manage the configuration and collection of the data from our MoTeC logging system ensuring sensors are calibrated and calculations are accurate.
  • Analyse this data using i2 Pro and a highly configured workspace I made to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This is due to the tight time constraints of having to look through over 40 cars in between sessions, whilst identifying patterns or anomalies keeping our customers racing experience enjoyable and fair.
  • The configured logger and worksheet have reduced collection and data analysis time by over half
  • Along with the technical proficiency of what each sensor on the car measures and knowing the SRO rule book, there are interpersonal skills required to communicate with officials and the teams as I raise discrepancies and troubleshoot technical issues on their cars, configuring and resolving electrical issues.

Monash Motorsport

Engineer

  • Solely responsible for the development of the team's driver simulator.
  • Developed accurate track models for all our competitions as well as a couple of the team's testing facilities allowing the drivers to drive the tracks virtually before the actual event, gaining valuable practice proved to decrease the driver's initial lap times by 22%
  • Created a driver improvement plan to improve drivers' fitness levels, and physical and mental ability. Where consistent tests were carried out to ensure the drivers stayed on track to reach these goals as drivers are responsible for 65% of total points and therefore needed to be at their best.
  • Managed the media team and produced a large amount of the team's marketable content for our social networks, including all competition videos in 2018, increasing engagement and following by 70%
  • Completed a redesign of their website using WordPress, which improved its SEO and backend usability so less computer-literate individuals could update data on the site easily
  • Built the first electric powertrain with a few others for Monash Motorsport
  • Developed code for the car's custom ECU in C using PSoC. Allow the car to accelerate and for the cooling fans to activate when appropriate. I expanded my knowledge of embedded programming.
  • Developed and deployed an onboard Data Logger in C using Arduino. As well as a Python data interpreter. This aided in debugging the car when issues arose as there was no previous way of seeing if the electronics were behaving. Further developing my knowledge of embedded programming and CAN messaging as well as increasing my data analytic skillset.

Coles

2IC Grocery Department - Duty Manager - Meat Manager

  • I was Second in Charge of the Grocery department supporting the manager on their days on and running the department on their days off. I aided in the total operations and management of fillers.
  • I filled in for store support, supporting the store manager in running the entire store ensuring everything is run smoothly and the store ran as per the high expectations set by our state managers
  • Was Acting Meat Manager (3 Months): Ensuring the department met set waste and sales projections whilst also meeting company standards. Increased sales from the previous year by 14%
  • Dairy Second in Charge: Stock and supply freezer and refrigerated sections of the store. Ensuring that products the customer desires are always on hand.
  • Joined the first Coles Services team responsible for cleaning and trolley management.
  • I was crucial in optimising processes and roles in this new department of the company which was an unknown.
  • Achieved perfect scores in our store audits

References

"He (Aiden) demonstrated a good balance of both theoretical knowledge and pragmatic, hands-on engineering. In the Tangram Task, Aiden listened to the instructions very carefully and led the Production team single-handedly. Very impressive performance. Aiden was clearly concentrating on the race procedure and made impactful suggestions to the team. He clearly understood the technical aspects of the challenge and contributed greatly. I fully expect to see him doing great things on a global stage in the very near future."

Tommaso Volpe / Andy Todd

Managing Director / Director of Enginnering, Nissan

"I have been consistently impressed by both Aiden’s attitude towards his work and his performance on the job. Aiden’s interpersonal and communication skills have developed a productive working relationship with all Horizon Power employees he has had contact with. Aiden has become an important and integral part of the team and his day-to-day efforts are greatly appreciated by the team. Aiden is always willing to assist in answering questions from Horizon Power and never talks down to some less technically inclined employees. Aiden’s technical skills are of a very high quality, and he can be trusted to provide some quality enhancements with very little defects attached. One of Aiden’s main strengths is his analysis skills and no matter how difficult an issue Aiden will methodically step out the issue or enhancement and work out best way to achieve a successful outcome."

Matt De Pinto

Systems & Process Manager, Horizon Power

"Always good to see people growing in knowledge, confidence and leadership when exposed to project work. Aiden is supporting the team AND holding us all to account for good practices and remembering to bring the goodness back to 'product'. At time of writing, Aiden is about to burn some extra hours to get the Tas Gas cutover to PROD back on schedule (due to delays on client-side) - thanks Aiden, appreciate the effort !"
